3 Signs You’re Already A Success

Have you ever said or thought to yourself, “I just want to be successful.”

Or perhaps you’ve heard someone say, “I need to work really hard to make this a success otherwise it’s no good and I’ve failed.”

These are both statements I’ve definitely said with conviction over the years, but I’ve come to learn that success, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

When you are constantly striving to achieve success, the end goal will keep moving and you’re desire for success starts to infect everything you do, leading to bad decisions, grumpy clients, sleepless nights, stress-fuelled panic attacks and more…

After closing down Woman Rising magazine, I began to understand that despite the external ‘failure’ of the business, I was ALREADY a success.

I had created and built something that was once only an idea and I was incredibly proud of that.

That change in perspective allowed me to shift my focus from ‘failure’ to ‘freedom’ and this mindset change now fuels my coaching business and most other things around me.

Success is different for each and every one of us, and I do believe in setting goals to upgrade your life, but success isn’t something you should be striving for because you are already a success.

Here’s 3 reasons why:

1. You’ve got your own business!

I don’t care if it’s just getting off the ground, you’re not making much money or hasn’t broken a profit – the fact that you’ve registered an ABN, created a website, started hustling for clients and putting yourself out there as a business owner, is 10000x more than what some others do (in that they don’t do anything at all!). Let’s face it, how many people do you know always talk about all their plans and dreams but don’t take any action?

Well then, you are already strides ahead and a success in my eyes, because you have set yourself the goal of shifting the needle from where you were yesterday, to where you want to be tomorrow, and that’s a big success! Keep going.

2. You’ve already achieved incredible things in your life!

Look back over your life and tell me one thing you’re really proud of. Maybe it’s graduating University. Getting a big promotion. Having kids after struggling to conceive or perhaps you saved your ass off and bought your first house. I don’t care if it was a slanty-shanty broom closest in the middle of nowhere and smelt like cats. You bought it!

Sister, you have done so much in this life to be proud of. So you might not be exactly where you want to be right now, but you are where you NEED to be and there’s a difference!

When you can see all the incredible achievements in your life, that have brought you to this moment, be proud of yourself! You are a success and your business will be one too.

3. You know working harder and sacrificing your health doesn’t equal success

You’ve been there, done the hard yards in your career and bought the designer t-shirt. But guess what? You’ve been through hell and back, stood on the edge of exhaustion and burn-out and you know better than anyone working extra hours and heaping pressure on yourself to do all the things yesterday is not a formula for success.

With all those inspiring life achievements you’ve listed above, which one came at a cost of your mental health?

I’m guessing NONE!

So why do you look at small business success differently and keep adding more stress on yourself to magically turn your business in to an online sensation overnight?

As a business owner, you are a success, because you turn up every single day, act and serve others to make their life better.

No-one is counting the hours you put in and no-one is only working with you because you ‘worked really hard on something.’ They are connecting and investing in you because they resonate with your personality, values and mission.

That’s a bloody big success!

When you can see yourself as a success and move forward to achieve your goals and dreams, then business will get easier and flow in the right direction. Yes, it’s a mind shift and yes it’s going to take internal work every single day, but think of it this way, building a business is easy – because you’re already a success.
